Facebook’s advertiser base is impressive. Last year on February, they announced that 2 million advertisers were active on their platform which is one healthy number to boast about. By September last year, the number had jumped to 2.5 million active advertisers, which was a 25% jump in 6 months.

6 months later, the curve is relatively the same where the number of advertisers has jumped yet again to a cool 3 million subscribers, which is a 50% jump compared to the figure posted on February 2015. Majority of the advertisers on Facebook are small and medium businesses of which 70% are based outside the United States.

There are other interesting facts released by Facebook that go with the new advertiser numbers:

  • More than 1 million advertisers create an ad from a mobile device
  • More than a billion people on Facebook are connected to at least one business
  • 50 million small businesses use Pages on Facebook.
  • The fastest growing region is South East Asia

You can understand why Facebook is attracting quite a lot of advertisers on its platform. It has 1.6 billion active users and also owns Instagram, WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger. Practically anyone you know right now in today’s modern world with a mobile device has at least one of their apps so their reach is immense. Secondly, their ad platform is quite advanced which is aided by their awesome News Feed so that ads are targeted to the individual user. This is why Instagram was able to tap on Facebook’s ad platform  and grow its ad subscriber base that bests Twitter’s.
