Support for Samsung’s Gear Wearables Finally Arrives on the iPhone

After nearly 2 years of broken promises and missed releases, Samsung has finally done something it ought to have done so long ago: make its Gear wearables compatible with Apple’s iPhone.

This is by way of apps that allow users of the Gear Fit and the Gear S to sync their iOS-powered devices with their Samsung wearables to make synchronization of data possible. Previously, this was only possible with devices running Android.

Samsung’s recent Gear devices like the Gear S2, Gear S3 and Gear Fit can now be paired with the iPhone and newer models of the iPhone running at least iOS 9.0 and above.

Samsung had started the process of bringing iOS support to its wearable devices range by introducing a beta a few months ago. Still, support for Samsung’s other wearables like the Gear IconX wireless earbuds on iOS devices is missing.

The Gear S app for iOS is already live on the Apple App Store.
