Tecno Mobile Introduces the DroiPad 7D, a Seven-Inch Tablet that Costs Less than Ksh. 10,000

If you are getting confused by the naming scheme of Tecno tablets, then you’re not alone. There’s the recent PhonePad 3, DroiPad 7C, DroidPad10 ProII (what??), DroiPad 8II, PhonePad 7II, WinPad 2, WinPad 10… You get the point.

The DroidPad 7D is an entry-level tablet with a 7-inch IPS display, 16GB internal storage, 1GB RAM, 3000mAh battery, 2MP selfie camera and a 5MP main camera. The DroidPad 7D comes with dual SIM support and Kids Zone support (yet to know what this is).

The most interesting part of the DroidPad 7D is the Kevlar back that just looks yummy and that heart-warming price tag of Ksh. 9,900.

Unlike most budget tablets, the DroidPad 7D comes with the latest consumer-ready version of Android, Nougat 7.0, which brings a lot of features such as split screen multitasking and bundled notifications which make the tablet experience worthwhile.

You can clearly tell that this is not a power-house neither is it meant to be a productivity device, so the question is, who is the target market of the DroidPad 7D? Going with the notable mention of “Kids Zone” support, probably this is aimed at the younger generation or as an option for someone who is looking to buy their first tablet.
