TECNO seems to already have their second flip phone on the way as its design sketches have reportedly started making rounds. This was confirmed on an FCC website where the phone was certified showing how the phone will look like.
The device that will likely be called the TECNO Phantom V2 Flip is the successor to the Phantom V Flip that was launched late last year.
From the diagrams on the website, the Phantom V2 Flip is expected to have a rectangular cover display and be considerably larger than the circular on the first-gen model. The rear camera module is also expected to be different.
The new model will reportedly have two separate circles on the back for the phone’s two cameras replacing the camera Oreo design on the first-gen model.
These cameras seem to be cut into the cover display on the back. Based on reports, the cutout on the back will likely be reserved for the display almost entirely.
This is meant to make the phone look more similar to its rivals and sway away from the first-gen model’s unique back design.
The TECNO Phantom V2 Flip will also use a split battery setup with one pack measuring 3,310mAh and the other 1,180mAh. That makes for a 4,490mAh battery capacity in total.
The phone will reportedly support 70W wired charging which would be a huge jump from the first-gen model’s 45W capability. The phone has also been confirmed to include 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, specs that will vary based on the options launched.
The phone also appeared on Geekbench not long ago, confirming that the MediaTek Dimensity 8050 SoC will be in use. The first-gen model arrived in September, though this one could arrive sooner than that… it remains to be seen.
