How Huawei Mate 20 Pro topped iPhone XS

Huawei Mate 20 Pro vs iPhone XS

Huawei Mate 20 Pro vs iPhone XSSomehow, iPhone reached the third position in the top of smartphone manufacturers, after Huawei became the second largest producer. In case you did not know Apple was on the second position for around 7 years, and Samsung was the number one manufacturer of mobile devices. But because Huawei continued to produce high-quality phones, it managed to reach the second position and to split the two competitors for the first time in many years. Tech specialists consider that the rise Huawei recorded is a significant one on the market. The fact that the company brought its products on the European market offered them a great advantage when competing with iPhone. People were able for the first time to buy smartphones that had the same features as Apple, but that were listed at affordable prices.

Who would not take advantage of this offer?

Its growth is the result of the fact that the Chinese manufacturer entered markets that have not even heard its name before launching their products there. And because the manufacturer is focused on offering top-notch devices at affordable prices, they easily build a customer audience. While iPhone launches smartphones with close-to-perfect features at huge prices, Huawei manufactures smartphones with similar features at prices people can actually access.

When launching Huawei Mate 20 Pro the Chinese smartphone maker showed everyone on the market that they are real competitors, and they can create next-level phones. People were afraid to spend around $1,500 for an Android phone until the Mate 20 was launched, because few phones were able to equal IOS, when it comes to operating systems.

So what buyers should know about Mate 20?

Huawei worked hard to make a smartphone that stands on the market, and their efforts can be seen in the camera this phone has. It features three sensors on the back and LED flash finishes. Its characteristics make it one of the most tech-laden smartphones available on the market now. The manufacturer decided to use the more black and white companion camera sensors than the other smartphone makers from the market in order to improve the quality of pictures. These sensors have the role to increase the dynamic range and to reduce image noise. Some critics would say that these camera sensors were not needed, because nowadays smartphones use software that improves the quality of pictures without using these sensors.

But what makes Mate 20 Pro’s camera unique? It has a 40-megapixel main sensor, enhanced by an optically stabilised 8-megapixel 3x zoom and a 20-megapixel ultra-wide. This means that the camera can be used to both zoom in and zoom out.

Does the Mate 20 Pro offer other features also? Or is just the camera that marvels users?

If we leave aside the camera, we will see that this smartphone has also other features that convince buyers to invest their money in an Android phone. This device has a similar Face ID feature, some would say that it is copied from Apple, but if Apple does not call for it, Huawei can use it to promote its tech.

In order to identify the user’s face this smartphone uses an IR dot projector, and a 24-megapixel sensor. Another feature, more and more smartphone users are looking for is the in-screen fingertip sensor. When the user hovers the finger over the display, the spot touched will glow. This feature is unique, only the Huawei products have it.

Wireless charging is another feature users prefer when they buy a phone, and because this one is listed at such an expensive price, it needed something special, people to be willing to invest in it. It comes with two wireless charging options. The smartphone can be charged by using a Qi pad, or by holding their backs together. But it is important to say that the Apple’s X-series also have the second feature.

The purpose of this phone is to show the smartphone market that new companies are able to challenge the acknowledged manufacturers, because they can bring new features and they can compete with them when it comes to performance. Huawei has a plus when compared with iPhone, its operating system is compatible with the majority of apps and programs available on the market. For example, more and more people are using reverse phone lookup programs to find out who called or texted them and Huawei phones offer people the possibility to use them.

Let’s not forget that Huawei has also launched the Mate 20

Some people do not want to buy a phone that shows of, they want to buy a device that offers them the essential elements a smartphone should have. And it is understandable that they do not want to spend two salaries to buy a phone. The Mate 20 does not have two wireless charging features, or the advanced face unlock or the in-screen fingerprint scanner, but the average user does not even need them.

It is true to say that it is a conventional high-end smartphone, with a more than average camera. The screen of the phone features a small teardrop notch when compared with its big brother. It is important to say that the core features of the phones are similar, only that the Pro model as its name states, has some professional characteristics the buyers who are willing to pay more can benefit of. Huawei decided to use the RGBW LCD screen to improve the experience its user has.

The growth of Huawei as a brand is impressive, no matter if you are a Huawei user or an iPhone one. They have this ability to access new markets and to adapt the features of their phones to the requests of that particular market. Tech specialists state that if iPhone and Samsung want to maintain their leading positions in the phone manufacturing industry, they have to improve the features of their devices and to expand their portfolios to make their smartphones accessible to a larger audience. The only thing that seems to stop Huawei from becoming number 1 in the top is the fact that the brand is excluded from the US. However, this may not last long.
