In Facebook’s plan to integrate al its apps under one roof, Instagram will soon let users natively crosspost their IGTV videos to Facebook and Facebook Watch. The Mark Zuckerberg owned social media platform recently added its brand name next to its other apps including Instagram and WhatsApp.
Screenshots posted by Jane Manchun Wong reveal a new feature Instagram is working on aptly called ” Make Visible on Facebook” buttons that will allow its users to now crosspost their IGTV videos as previews to Facebook and Facebook Watch. Another thing worth noting is that the videos would be available as episodes in a series.
The noted reverse engineer adds that the buttons aren’t ready yet meaning that this is still a feature on prototype stage.

If it ever goe slive, the feature would help IGTV grow in terms of viewers and also entice current Instagram users to hop on the standalone video platform that is struggling to gain audiencesas it competes with the likes of TikTok and Snapchat. In late May, IGTV got redesigned to play catch-up and added support for landscape video to help it gain traction.
Other Updates
Other updates that rolled out this week include the ability to opt for a 1:1 crop of an IGTV thumbnail for the creator’s Profile Cover. There will also be the ability to edit which 5:4 section of the IGTV video shows in the Feed.
IGTV will also auto-generate Instagram handles and tags on IGTV titles and descriptions.
Users will also now be able to post even longer videos from mobile as it has been extended to up to 15 minutes.
