Music streaming giant, Spotify is now improving on the real-time lyrics it offers in-app with a new user interface the company is currently testing. The lyrics feature began testing last year and Spotify even confirmed it. However, it is still not available to most users as the company is slowly rolling it to users worldwide.

Was thinking recently that the one benefit of Apple Music over Spotify is the live time lyrics, and here we are mere weeks later: Spotify lyrics! Can’t wait to see it on mobile pls 🤞 pic.twitter.com/S7qsfVcDv6

Spotify is still improving on the lyrics feature with a new UI. Musixmatch is the service Spotify opted to partner with – the app was already overlaying the lyrics on top of Spotify.
The in-app lyrics could be found when you see a Lyrics Indicator in playlists before the artist’s name to identify supported tracks. Swiping up from a current song playing will reveal the lyrics which you can expand to view full screen and sing along now that we’re all cooped fighting the spread of COVID-19.
A new Lyrics icon sits next to the play/pause button.
Clicking on it will reveal the lyrics which stay in place of the album art that gets minimized in the top left corner.
