The internet can be a very fascinating place if you know where to look at.

Discovered will do the digging and bring you the best, new and exciting apps, browser extensions or websites, so you don’t have to.

Some of this week’s finds will be productive tools and others genuinely interesting and will be fun to try out or waste your afternoon scrolling through what they offer.

Elon Musk baby name generator

If you’ve been living in a cave or something, Elon just had a baby boy with Grimes. He was given a very strange first name – X Æ A-12.

People found it hard to pronounce the name.

There’s a new website that now let’s know what Elon would name you. You just enter your name and you get a new name generated.

Check it out to here.

ZmURL

A lot of people have hopped on Zoom for video conferencing now that people are practising social distancing and working from home to curb the spread of COVID-19.

People have been Zoombombing events and meetings and with this tool, you can personalize your Zoom event with a non-generic link.

The invite URL is now personalized with a title, an explanation and image so that when you share the link on social media, this description shows up.

With ZmURL, you’ll have to require attendees RSVP to your Zoom event by entering their email addresses so that you can decide who to approve and give them the actual link.

Check it out here.

“We built zmurl.com to make it easier for people to stay physically distant but socially close. We’re hoping to give event organizers the tools to preserve in-person communities while we are all under quarantine,” ZmURL co-founder Victor Pontis tells Techcrunch.

While we’re on video calling, another tool you can check out is Golden Hour. The golden hour is a period of daytime shortly before sunrise or before sunset and the daylight is redder and softer – perfect for photos.

Golden Hour uses the unutilised screen during a video call and lights it up and illuminates the face with a warm, rosy glow similar to the golden hour effect.

PopNotes

This is a notes app that lives in the status bar of your Mac. There’s no need to keep switching between windows to jot down notes. It has features like managing notes in categories, notes are synchronized on iCloud, customize the appearance of the notes among other features.

Check it out here.

Drive & Listen

Drive & Listen is a new site that lets you drive around cities while listening to their local radios.

If you like watching driving in the rain videos on YouTube, then you’ll enjoy this site.

TheWorkout.Today

For those who’ve been at home, you’ll want to start exercising to stay fit or entertain yourselves.

People even bought Peloton bikes even after that controversial ad.

TheWorkout.Today sends a free home workout in your inbox – the exercises take 29 minutes or less. There’s even a mind-expanding reflection or prompt.

They also offer yoga, live workouts, interviews with interesting people in different lines of work, and more.

They send the workouts every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Try them out here.

Another tool to check out is Perfect Plank – which is an interactive AI coach on your phone.

The app uses an interface similar to your typical messaging app to promote journaling that appears as though you are messaging yourself.

The site not only shows you events that are Live or are going to be soon to let you plan ahead.

They even display them in your timezone.

GoGo

This is a simple productivity tool that features ambient sounds, an essential water reminder and a task timer.

It’s a chrome extension that you don’t have to log in to use.

Notopass

Notopass lets you share accounts without giving your username or password. the android app will allow you to share accounts with others without revealing your username or password.

The good thing is you can also control their access anytime – by adding or removing your group members or, delete your group all together at any time.

The invitee can open logged in account in the mobile app or in the desktop using chrome extension.

The system works by transferring the cookie that stores your current login status, rather than your plain password itself.

The Office

If you miss watching The Office – the show has now been recreated in Slack, and it’s live weekdays from 9 to 5.

The fellows at MSCHF made the site just like they did AllTheStreams and FlexTime.
