iOS 14.5 is on the way and we are starting to get a wind of the new features expected with the new update.

Users who have installed the iOS 14.5 beta have been uncovering new features from it and this one will be loved by music streamers.

As shared on Reddit, iOS 14.5 will allow you to select what music streaming you want to play a song when you ask Siri. When you trigger Siri to play a song, Siri will ask what app you want to use which gives users more control over the services they’d want to use.

It seems like this feature has not been prompted fully because the entire update is still on beta. Some users say that they are not presented with a list of apps to choose from like the screenshot above but instead was asked for access to Spotify data after which it worked without prompts. Apple has a few kinks to iron out it seems but generally, this is a great idea to implement.

This feature discovery comes days after we saw future implementations on iOS 14.5 like unlocking your iPhone with Face ID while you’re wearing a mask and support for the PS5 and Xbox Series X controllers.

Apple has become very un-Apple like since the iOS 14 announcement at WWDC 2020. You can change your default email service to something like Gmail on iOS 14. The HomePod mini can stream content from a different service than Apple Music like Pandora. They could be doing this to avoid anti-trust scrutiny which is good for everyone.
