Instagram will soon let you control whose posts appear first on your feed. Instagram’s current feed is driven by algorithms instead of a chronological feed.
Instagram is now working on giving you the option of picking whose posts you want to see rank higher in your feed with a favourites feature.
This feature will let you pick your favourite accounts and add them to this list and when they post a photo/video, it will appear first in your feed.

Instagram is also suggesting accounts you can add to your favourite list.
This feature revealed by Alessandro Paluzzi, a prolific app reverse engineer will come in handy when you sort the people you follow between brands and actual friends/family or acquaintances so that either posts from your friends appear top on your feed when you open your feed and then you can later see posts from brands you follow.
It’s going to be interesting to see how this rolls out as Instagram is also testing putting Suggested Posts over regular posts in the same feed.
