Safaricom announced an upgrade to its local cloud computing platform and cloud services suite. The move is aimed at empowering businesses and organizations to adapt to the dynamic business landscape.
These new cloud services, hosted in data centres located in Nairobi and Kisumu, are built on VMware technologies. The new cloud suite will enable customers to manage their applications with flexibility.
Now clients will be able to allocate cloud computing resources through a unified interface. Customers are now able to purchase cloud computing capacity in bulk and tailor their computing environment to align with specific business application needs.
Safaricom’s cloud services offer enterprise clients the agility to expand their operations. Scalability being one of the advantages of a cloud computing environment. This approach enables businesses to conduct their operations from anywhere, ensuring high availability and better service delivery to their end customers.
Currently, Safaricom offers:
- Software as a Service (SAAS) that enables businesses to host and access a wide range of software.
- Infrastructure as a Service (IAAS) through network and systems resources on Safaricom cloud.
Furthermore, Safaricom’s cloud services consider security and data residency compliance. The telco provides secure hosting for business applications. This ensures that sensitive data remains protected and meets regulatory requirements.
