The new OPPO F27 Pro Plus is the company’s new premium mid-range smartphone that launched recently in international markets like India. Touted as the first “super-rugged, monsoon-ready smartphone” by the Chinese firm, the phone is designed to withstand impacts of any kind.
This seems to be an ongoing trend by OPPO who recently launched the A60 which is a more affordable smartphone with military standard certification for build quality.
According to the company, the same goes for the F27 Pro+ that also boasts Swiss SGS five-star rating for drop resistance. The most outstanding feature is the build quality that comes with IP69 rating for water and dust resistance. The smartphone sports a 3D curved AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection.
With these protections in place, the OPPO F27 Pro Plus is said to clear the following three ingress protection (IP) certifications:
- 1. IP66 for protection against dust and regular water jets
- 2. IP68 for protection against dust and water immersion up to 1.5m for 30 mins
- 3. IP69 for protection against dust and high-pressure water jets at temperatures up to 80°C
The device also holds a circular camera module with a triple camera setup consisting of 64MP main camera and two 2MP lenses. The phone is powered by Mediatek Dimensity 7050 SoC chipset which according to insiders, is just a rebranded Dimensity 1080 chip that we’ve seen in older smartphones.
It also packs a 5000mAh battery with 67W fast charging.
It’s not clear if we will get to see this smartphone in the Kenyan market but we’ll definitely be eager to see if OPPO brings it.
