Infinix is preparing to make its debut in the foldable smartphone market with the much awaited Infinix Zero Flip. Thankfully for tech enthusiasts, recent certifications have shed light on some key features of this clamshell-style device, particularly its battery capacity and charging capabilities.
The Infinix Zero Flip, bearing the model number X6962, has been spotted on multiple certification platforms, including the FCC, EEC, and most recently, the TUV Rheinland Japan.
According to the TUV certification, the Infinix Zero Flip will feature a dual-cell battery setup. The primary cell has a capacity of 3,410 mAh, while the secondary cell offers 1,180 mAh. This combination results in a total rated capacity of 4,590 mAh, which is likely to be marketed as a typical capacity of 4,700 mAh.
This battery capacity gives the Infinix Zero Flip a potential edge over its competitors in the clamshell foldable market. For comparison, both the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip and the Motorola Razr series typically offer around 4,000 mAh batteries.
Adding to its power credentials, the FCC listing suggests that the Zero Flip will support 70W rapid charging. This fast-charging capability could be a major selling point, potentially outpacing rivals like the Galaxy Z Flip (25W) and Motorola Razr (45W).
While full specifications remain under wraps, the FCC certification has revealed some additional details about the Zero Flip. The device is expected to come with 8GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. Design-wise, it will feature a large square outer display, flanked by a vertical dual-camera system and an LED flash. At least one color variant, Titanium Black, has been confirmed.
The dimensions of the device have also been disclosed. When unfolded, it measures 170.35 x 73.4 x 7.64mm, and when folded, it comes in at 87.49 x 73.4 x 16.04mm. These measurements suggest a compact form factor typical of clamshell foldables.
While Infinix has yet to officially tease or announce the Zero Flip, these certification appearances indicate that a launch could be imminent, possibly as soon as this month or in August. Given Infinix’s reputation for aggressive pricing, there’s speculation that the Zero Flip could be competitively priced in the foldable smartphone market.
