Gaming phones don’t need to break the bank, and Infinix nailed that with the GT 20 Pro, a budget smartphone built for gamers. I’m still putting it through its paces, but Infinix isn’t slowing down. They’ve already dropped its successor, the Infinix GT 30 Pro.
Processor and Performance
Unlike its predecessor, which comes with a Dimensity 8200 chipset, the GT 30 Pro is equipped with MediaTek’s Dimensity 8350 Ultimate processor, a 4nm chip that’s specifically tuned for gaming performance.
This isn’t marketing talk, as the phone carries official 120 FPS certification for demanding titles like PUBG Mobile and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. For competitive mobile gamers, that certification translates to smoother gameplay when it matters most.
The device comes with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of speedy UFS 4.0 storage, with Infinix’s Extended RAM feature that can theoretically double your available memory to 24GB by using storage space.
While virtual RAM isn’t quite the same as the real thing, it helps with multitasking and keeping games loaded in the background.
Gaming Features That Actually Matter
The GT 30 Pro is also introducing something new to Infinix’s gaming lineup: GT Triggers. These are capacitive shoulder buttons built into the phone’s frame, giving you console-like controls for aiming, shooting, or activating abilities.
It might seem like a gimmick at first, until you’re locked in a heated FPS match and realize it’s a total game-changer. Infinix is clearly thinking of gamers, packing in features that elevate the mobile shooting experience.
Infinix has also equipped the phone with their XBoost Gaming Engine and an AI-backed vapor chamber cooling system.
Gaming phones generate serious heat during extended sessions, so proper thermal management isn’t just nice to have but essential for maintaining performance when you’re deep into a tournament run.
Display and Design
The 6.78-inch AMOLED display delivers where it counts with a 144Hz refresh rate, 1,600 nits peak brightness, and Gorilla Glass 7i protection.
The screen supports a 2,160Hz touch sampling rate, which means your finger taps register almost instantly, a crucial factor for competitive gaming where milliseconds matter.
Design-wise, the GT 30 Pro embraces the aggressive gaming aesthetic with its Cyber Mecha Design 2.0. The back panel features RGB lighting with over 14 dynamic modes, sharp angular lines, and a color scheme that complements the gaming aesthetic.
If you prefer something more subtle, the Blade White variant tones things down considerably compared to the Dark Flare and Shadow Ash options.
Practical Considerations
Gaming sessions drain batteries fast, so the 5,500mAh power cell is very much welcome. The phone supports 45W wired charging and 30W wireless charging, which should get you back in the game quickly.
There’s even 10W reverse charging if you need to top up your earbuds or smartwatch.
The camera setup won’t win any photography awards, but it’s decent enough with a 108MP main sensor and 8MP ultrawide lens. The 13MP front camera will also handle video calls and streaming well enough.
Software and Longevity
Infinix is shipping the GT 30 Pro with Android 15-based XOS 15, complete with its AI suite powered by DeepSeek R1. You’ll get two years of major OS updates and three years of security patches, which is reasonable for this price segment.
The phone includes an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance, 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi 6, and all the standard features you’d expect from a modern smartphone.
Pricing and Availability
Starting at around $304 for the 12GB/256GB model in Malaysia, the Infinix GT 30 Pro targets the sweet spot between serious gaming performance and reasonable pricing.
Mobile gamers who want legitimate gaming features without spending flagship money will appreciate what Infinix is trying to accomplish with the GT 30 Pro.
There’s no news yet on when the phone will be available globally, but we’ll keep you updated as more information comes in.
