Adobe has launched the beta version of its Photoshop app for Android, expanding access to its powerful image editing tools to a broader mobile audience.
This follows the earlier release of the app on iPhone in February 2025. Now available on the Google Play Store, the Android version is free during its beta phase, offering users a chance to explore its full capabilities before the official rollout.
The Android app has been optimised for touch and mobile workflows, offering key features familiar to users of the desktop version. These include layers, masks, selections, and a range of professional editing tools.
A standout feature is Generative Fill, Adobe’s AI-powered tool that enables users to quickly add, remove, or alter image elements with simple prompts.
Other tools, such as Tap to Select, Spot Healing Brush, and Clone Stamp, offer precision editing, allowing users to enhance or modify images on the go.
In addition to its editing tools, the Adobe Photoshop app includes access to a curated selection of free Adobe Stock assets, giving users high-quality content to use in their projects.
Built-in tutorials guide users through the app’s features, making it suitable for professionals and hobbyists alike. Adobe has also introduced a community hub within the app, where users can share their creations, get feedback, and draw inspiration from others.
To run the beta version, Android devices must be running Android 11 or later, with at least 6GB of RAM recommended for the best experience.
Adobe has not announced when the free beta period will end, but is actively encouraging users to provide feedback to improve the app ahead of a full public release.
