In today’s world of numerous newsletters, email marketing, and sometimes spammy messages, one may find their inbox inundated by emails that have little to no importance. Gmail, Google’s email service used by over 1.8 billion people, has finally rolled out a new feature to help you manage your subscriptions directly to Kenyan users.
According to Google’s blog post, “When you unsubscribe from a sender in ‘Manage subscriptions’, Gmail unsubscribes you from all active mailing lists related to the sender,”.
The downside is that you might still get emails from a sender for a few days even after you’ve unsubscribed.
A positive from the new feature is the fact that it will rarely send you to another website to complete the task. However, Gmail notes that this might happen in some cases.
Another helpful feature is that one can easily track all active subscriptions associated with a particular email address at a single point. This makes it easier to review the list and decide to unsubscribe or block as one deems fit.
“If you block a sender, it doesn’t automatically unsubscribe you from their mailing list. Instead, any future emails from the sender go directly to Spam,“ adds Google on its blog.
Users can also review all emails from a sender by simply clicking on their name or profile picture.
