Four is the number of new Series 40 devices announced at Nokia World, named the Asha family. They are built to target the low budget users who want to get the most of the phone, with dual sim while at it. Asha is derived from Hindi meaning ‘hope’….the hope to connect millions.
The Asha family comprises of Nokia Asha 303, 300, 201 and 200, each with different specs and price sets.
First on the list is Nokia Asha 303
This is a 2.6 inch touch and type capacitive Series 40 phone. It has a qwerty keypad and a metallic finish. Processor is 1GHz, features 3G and the cloud based Nokia browser. And you can play Angry birds on a series 40 phone, as you can see with this one, use tools like whatsapp and facebook chat. Also included is the latest offing of Nokia maps for Series 40. Pricing will be about 115 euros, shipping later this year. No info about camera o_o. It has a 3.2 megapixel EDOF camera.
Next on is the Nokia Asha 300
This one packs a touch and type but the keypad is not qwerty like the previous 303. The 1GHz for Nokia has become the minimum standard as I have come to note andthe Nokia series 40 browser for all series 40 being released. This one comes preloaded with angry birds game. It features a 5 mp camera and microSD capacity of upto 32GB. Pricing will be around 85 euro, shipping also later this year.
Then Nokia Asha 200
Price and specs go down as we go down the list. This one is a dual sim phone and has easy swap functionality. Has the 32GB microSD slot and 52 hour playback time of battery life. Price will be 60 euro, shipping same time.
Last but ….wait! and Least is Nokia Asha 201
This one is single sim and has the lowest specs among the four. If you like listening to music, look for low budget, this could be for you. Still 60 euros. But it supports push mail, so…yeah, you can use it to read your office mail. Has the Nokia series 40 browser, 32 GB microSD slot, loudspeaker and also does whatsapp, death to the sms. This one will sell early next year.
All these phones have a physical look like the C3, either the C3 qwerty or the C3-02, dont you think so?
