What is Project Glass?
Google Glass is a wearable computer with a head-mounted display that is being developed by Google in the Project Glass research and development project, with the mission of producing a mass-market ubiquitous computer. Google Glass displays information in a smartphone-like hands-free format, that can interact with the Internet via natural language voice commands.

In order to understand the future one must look to the past. Nokia 3210 & 3310, launched and made around the year 2000 were BASIC mobile phones…among the first to lack an aerial. At that time they were at the top of their game. They had a screen that could accommodate ‘graphics’ & 3310 could create ringtones. They had a great battery life & increased contacts & SMS storage. These were THE devices back then…with more than what we needed.

Where are we NOW…Galaxy S4, iPhone 5, Xperia Z & HTC One… That’s where we are…again they are THE devices with more than we need, yet we still expect more.

What has changed? Its been a 13 year journey to get to where we are now & great leaps have been made. Now your phone has both ROM & RAM, not including an actual (in GHz) processor.
Phones now come attached to your camera, and vice versa. Phones have become the primary tool to access the internet. We indeed have come a long way in such a short period in time.

But in that same period of time phones/mobile devices have transformed; these are times when the design & functionality CHANGED.

•  In the year 2000 change was brought about by Nokia.
•  In the year 2006 change was brought about by Apple.
•  In the year 2013/4 change will be (& is being) brought about by GOOGLE (if & when they launch glass).

Enters Google Glass…slated for a 2014 release. This device takes mobile telephony & technology to THAT next level. It’s wearable eyewear that is not only intelligent but predictive, a proper personal assistant.

In my opinion this is a GAME CHANGER as it’s combined with Google Now, which is Google’s intelligent personal assistant available for Google’s Android operating system. From the videos/photos observed through those links & above, we’ve moved away from smart phones/devices to Personal Assistants. For any one who has watched Dexter’s Lab, we will now be able to have our own interactive Computer.

& as we anticipate the fears of such technology.
