No seriously, Nokia launched the Lumia 1020 at an event held at the KICC helipad on the 28th floor and there was a temporary bar. This was an exclusive invite only event where Nokia Senior Vice President of India and Middle East Africa graced the launch. This would be his first time in Kenya.
Nokia also had a professional photographer Sean Kim who narrated his experience with Nokia’s best cameraphone, the Lumia 1020. Lumia 1020 was launched in July in the global scene and only recently got available in Kenya. Bruce Howe, Nokia East Africa General Manager noted that the Lumia 520 contributed much in the growth of Nokia Windows phone and adoption is mainly by the youth.
Bruce announced that the first Lumia 1020 to be sold in Kenya was to a customer earlier today at Village Market. The Lumia 1020 stands out as Nokia’s assertion of it’s position in the imaging business for the smartphone, a point that was made with the Nokia Pureview that runs Symbian. A video aired of a National Geographic photographer shows how Lumia 1020 is capable of taking in wide pictures while at the same time picking so much level of detail with image quality like that of professional photos.
