Nokia has finally confirmed the Lumia 1020 and as expected, it’s the 41 megapixels device on Windows Phone 8. The Lumia 1020 promises to capture images in 38 megapixels and creates a 5 megapixel picture that is oversampled for easy sharing to social media. Basically you save two sets of images, the one you can reframe and the oversampled 5 megapixel one for easy sharing.
The Lumia 1020’s 41 MP camera sensor has ZEISS optics (formerly carl zeiss) that has six physical lenses and optical image stabilization that enables the camera take clear pictures in low light conditions.
Nokia also announced the accessory for the Lumia 1020 that is the Nokia Camera Grip that also functions as external battery adding 1020 mAh to the existing 2000 mAh inside the Lumia 1020. The camera grip also has a tripod mount and will be available at $79
Lumia 1020 will sell at the price of $300 on a two year contract at AT&T starting July 26th. China and European markets get the Lumia 1020 within this third quarter while Telefonica will ship an exclusive variant of the device to select European and Latin American markets. Colours will be in white, black and yellow.
