Ascend G7 Fingerprint scanner

Ascend G7 Fingerprint scannerLooks like Huawei may be unveiling more than one device at their event in Berlin come September 4th. This is what new photo leaks reveal. This one has actual prototype image reveals that have the fingerprint sensor clearly embedded to the back of the phone. That’s not all we have a design to go with thanks to the metal back cover revealed that has three holes, one for the camera flanked by the lens and one below the camera for the fingerprint scanner.

The metal back cover pictured below does look nice and in the lines of HTC One in terms of design finesse. The other photos show a device covered in prototype sheaths to shield the final device. These give out the specs sheet of the device to tell a different story from the previous one. We could well be seeing a mid-range Ascend G7 with Dual-SIM and a fingerprint scanner to boot.

Compared to the Ascend Mate 7 which projects a high end device, the specs sheet here talks of a 720p display, 1GB of RAM, 1.6Ghz RAM without the processor type and an internal storage of 16GB. The device product code is Huawei Z100-CL00 which could mean anything, but the specs sure do talk of what could turn out to be the Huawei Ascend G7. If indeed it is, then this could mark a new direction for Huawei devices having fingerprint scanners and metal designs outside of the metal frame that the Ascend P6 and Ascend P7 already have.

All the same, this makes for a more interesting September as we await to see what might come from the Huawei factories. Click on the images to preview gallery.
