Lumia 430: The most affordable Lumia to date

Barely two months after Microsoft launched the Lumia 435, the  software giant based in Redmond Washington has unveiled the Lumia 430. Priced at $70 (before taxes and subsidies), the Lumia 430 is testament to the importance that the mobile device manufacturers and software vendors place on untapped emerging markets. The Lumia 4 series appears to be 3rd time lucky as Microsoft (then Nokia) has tried to win the sub $100 market segment with the Nokia Asha family (launched in 2013) and short lived Nokia X series (launched in 2014).

The Lumia 430 has very similar specifications to the Lumia 435. Sporting a large 4″ WVGA screen (for its price class), dual SIM and a Front facing camera, the Lumia 430 has been designed to bring Microsoft services like Office, Skype and OneDrive to the customers who may be owning a smartphone for the very first time. Microsoft has learned a tough lesson when they launched the Lumia 530 without a front facing camera. As the  Lumia 430 also comes with class leading 1GB RAM, it will be upgradeable to Windows 10 Mobile later in in the year.

The Lumia 430 has a fixed focus 2MP front facing camera, 8GB of on board storage  (expandable upto 128GB with microSD, Windows Phone’s SMART Dual SIM system that allows a use to simultaneously switch between SIMs, and a 1500 mAH battery that will keep you going all day long. It will be available starting in April.
