The Red Dot Awards is an annual event that gives awards to products for their exemplary design and LG was a contestant in the awards.
In this year’s Red Dot Awards, LG was a big winner. The electronics giant earned a total of 20 awards, which is impressive. This included two Best of the Best awards that were given to LG’s Signature OLED TV W and the Smart InstaView refrigerator “for their innovation and contribution to the design community.”
The LG Signature OLED TV W in particular has this Picture on Wall design that features a profile that is 4mm thick while mounted on the wall. This model was among the winners in the recent iF Design Awards which adds to the accolades the company has received for the product.
The LG InstaView refrigerator was the other big winner in the Red Dot Awards. “The LG Instaview Door-in-Door refrigerator was recognized by Red Dot for successfully combining a beautiful appliance with interactive technology.”
In addition to these key awards, LG had other 18 awards from Red Dot for such products like the LG Signature OLED TV, LG Watch Style and Sports, Gram laptop, LG V20 smartphone, Tone series wireless headset and Minibeam projector.
“Recognition such as these from an organization as respected as Red Dot is confirmation to us that LG is living up to our expectation as a industry leader in design,” LG Electronics’s VP and head of corporate design, Noh Chang-ho said. “We will continue to offer products that push the boundaries of design and technology, redefining consumers’ expectations and doing our best to set a higher standard for aesthetics.”
