The iF Design Awards are usually awarded to companies across multiple disciplines as a gesture to recognize the great designs that have been presented by various companies. It has been the premiere design competition in the world for 60 years and of course it is an honour for a company to receive awards on their products.
This year’s competition saw a total of 5,500 products being submitted from 59 countries and LG was quite the winner this time round.
They were honoured with 30 iF Design Awards which included the prestigious Gold Award for the CordZero™ canister vacuum cleaner and other products like the LG Gram, LG V20, LG Signature OLED TV and LG Tone Bluetooth headsets.
The judges praised the CordZero™ vacuum cleaner for its comfort, convenience and usability while the premium Signature OLED TV lineup was recognized for its design excellence.
That’s not all, LG’s SIGNATURE Gallery was recognized in both Communications and Interior Architecture categories. This was actually revealed in IFA 2016 where the 140 square meter exhibit was designed to highlight the ‘Art of Essence’ philosophy behind the collection of premium appliances.
“LG’s product designs draw inspiration from our understanding of essential needs of our customers,” LG Electronics VP and Head of Corporate Design was quoted as saying. “These awards demonstrate how our commitment to aesthetics is transforming the user experience. We will continue to offer products that challenge the boundaries of beauty and function.”
Well, congratulations to LG for the feat and we are now looking forward to the next installment of the awards in 2018.
