Some of you may have noticed that the M-PESA app is not working. The issue started at around 1 PM today and is still on-going.
Many people have raised their concerns across various social media channels, and we have since established that it is not an isolated case.
Safaricom has responded to users about the issue, and there are reasons, after all.
We are having system issues affecting M-PESA services for the business app. The issue is currently being addressed. You can access your account via *234#ok and reply with option 2. Apologies for the inconvenience – Safaricom
This issue was not communicated, so it is possible it was not foreseen.
It should also be remembered that Safaricom has scheduled service interruptions, starting today from 10 AM to Sunday 9 AM. According to the communication made earlier, the following services will be inaccessible:
- SIM swap
- All airtime top-up
- Tariff migration
- Activation of new lines
All other services will be available, including the following:
- Calls
- Data
- M-PESA
- SMS
In the meantime, we will wait till the apps are fixed. Otherwise, you can still use the mySafaricom app, which works just fine for nw.
