Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Will Power These Smartphones

Qualcomm has just announced its new flagship chip – Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Qualcomm used a 4nm build process – for comparison, the Snapdragon 888 uses a 5nm process.

Qualcomm went with a different naming system for its new chips and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is the first chip to run with the new name.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is an octa-core processor that Qualcomm claims is 20% faster features improvements including Hyper Intelligence, Super Resolution, Motion Estimation, Battery Efficiency, Improved 5G connectivity(10Gbps max download speed), improved Image Signal Processor(Triple ISP + an extra Always-on ISP) that can crunch through 40,000% camera data with the ability to shoot 8K HDR 10+ footage(continuous 64MP recording), cinematic video at 4K and Mega Night mode among other features.

Right after this announcement, several smartphone brands went ahead to share which of their devices will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

OPPO Find X4 Pro

OPPO took to Weibo to share that the Find X4 Pro will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. This is the company’s first official news regarding its flagship device.

Another detail we know so far is that it will feature 80W fast charging.

In terms of cameras, we expect a 50 MP + 50 MP + 13 MP telephoto setup with improved sensors.

We’ll probably see a 6.7″ OLED screen with 1440p resolution and adaptive refresh rate.

The phone will have a March launch in China and a global launch later on.

Xiaomi 12

Mr Lei Jun, Xiaomi’s founder and CEO took to Twitter to share that the Xiaomi 12 will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

It is rumoured that Xiaomi will launch later this month(Dec 12) in China and a global launch is scheduled for early next year.

Motorola Edge X30

Motorola Edge X30 will be the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 powered device as it will launch on December 9th in China.

it will have a flat 6.67″ AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support.

It will have a 5000mAh battery and support 68.2W fast charging.

For optics, we expect a 50MP main camera, a 50MPultra-wide and a 2MP depth sensor.

Realme GT 2 Pro

Realme will also launch the GT 2 Pro that will run on Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

Realme GT 2 Pro will have 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB of UF 3.1 storage.

Realme GT 2 Pro will also feature a 5.51″ AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate.

For cameras, we expect a 50MP main sensor featuring OIS and a 32MP selfie camera.

Mr Mahav Sheth, Realme’s VP shared on Twitter that we should expect the phone this month.

OnePlus 10

The upcoming OnePlus 10 will ship with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

Rumoured specs include a curved 6.7″ Quad HD+ AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate screen.

Other features include 128/256GB UFS 3.1 storage and 8/12GB LPDDR5 RAM.

We expect a Hasselblad triple camera setup made of a 50MP ultrawide and 48MP main with an 8MP telephoto camera.

For selfies, we’ll have a 32MP front-facing camera.

OnePlus 10 will ship with Android 12 and OxygenOS 12.

It will also have a 5000mAh battery with 125W fast charging.

Vivo X80 Series, Vivo Nex 4

Vivo X80 series that succeed the Vivo X70 series will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Vivo Nex 4 will also run on Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

iQOOO, Vivo’s subbrand also shared that the iQOO 9 series will ship with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
