Huawei Nova 9 SE

Tech giant Huawei has brought the Huawei Nova 9 SE to the country. This is their latest mid-range smartphone and the company has opened the pre-order period for the phone with consumers getting a free Huawei Band 4 included in the package.

Huawei Nova 9 SE comes with a 6.78″ 1080p LCD screen with a 90Hz refresh rate and a centre punch-hole that houses the selfie camera.

We get a side-mounted fingerprint sensor instead of an under-display fingerprint reader.

Under the hood, we get a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 processor coupled with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. Huawei Nova 9 SE runs on EMUI 12 and Android 11 and yes there’s no access to Google Play Services.

You Can Actually Live on an Android Smartphone Lacking Google’s Apps and Services. Here’s How I Did It:

Huawei NOva 9 SE rocks a quad-camera setup featuring a 108MP main camera, an 8MP ultrawide, a 2MP macro and a 2M depth sensor.

For selfies, we have a 16MP front-facing camera.

Huawei Nova 9 SE comes with Dual View mode that lets you record video simultaneously from the front and main camera – perfect for vlogging and social media videos. This mode supports split-screen or pic-in-pic video recording.

Huawei Nova 9 SE has a 4500mAh battery and ships with a 66W fast charging power brick and the company says that it can charge up to 75% in 20 minutes. We’ll check that in our upcoming review.

Huawei Nova 9 SE comes in Crystal Blue, Pearl White and Midnight Black.

Huawei AppGallery Gets Updated With Improved App and Content Discoverability

Huawei Nova 9 SE pre-orders start from Ksh 39,999 in all its official retail stores countrywide including its Experience stores at Yaya Center, TRM, Sarit Center and the Village Market.

“Along the trail blazed by innovation, the HUAWEI nova Series has always been with the youth on every step of the path. Since its inception, the series has always been one that’s tailored for young consumers, offering quality, well-designed smart devices that are equipped with incredible cameras that enable young users to indulge in their interests and passion. And with every generation of HUAWEI nova smartphones, Huawei reinterprets the youth, technology and design,” said Jim Zhujie, Huawei Mobile Kenya Country Head.

“Inheriting the aesthetics and powerful performance of its predecessors, the HUAWEI nova 9 SE is finally making its debut. The new smartphone has a High-Res camera system underpinning the outstanding photography experience it offers and runs EMUI 12. Given the popularity of videos in social media today, it also brings creative vlogging experiences that are highly sought after by the youth.” he added.

Stay tuned for our full review coming in the next few days.
