OPPO A77 Available in Kenya for Ksh 27,000

OPPO has been selling its smartphones in Kenya for a very long time. However, the Chinese phone maker does not usually bring its high-end devices here. This year, however, the company launched the Find X5, not the Pro, for Kenyans at KES 100K. It is an excellent device, and we have since reviewed it here.

OPPO’s Kenya presence is vastly known for its Reno devices. These are mid-rangers, and while they have received periodical price bumps, they sell very well. They compete with the likes of the Galaxy A series in Kenya, alongside some vivo devices.

The company’s entry-level range is the A series (OPPO). They are available in Kenya and pack great specs, including a healthy 8 GB of RAM, for the price. This range is getting replenished locally, following the launch of the A77, but this one drops the RAM to 6GB, unlike other A series launches.

Here are some of its specs:

MediaTek has been making excellent chips in the recent past. The Dimensity 810 is an outstanding performer, and being a Dimensity silicon, it brings 5G on tow. This makes it one of the most affordable phones with 5G support, but as we have said before, 5G  isn’t really available locally, although Safaricom has since launched it. Commercial rollout is expected to go live sometime in late 2022, or early next year.

.

NOTE: The model that will be available locally will not be powered by the Dimensity chip, but another non-5G silicon. For now,5G is a reserve of a few devices, including the Reno6 Pro 5G, Reno7 Pro 5G and the Find X5.

OPPO A77 is officially available in the market with the recommended retail price of Ksh. 26,999. Customers can purchase at OPPO’s official online store and E-commerce partners like Jumia, Kilimall, Sky Garden, and Masoko.
