Samsung Galaxy A71 Receiving Android 13 in Kenya, and A Full List of Updated Galaxies

Right now, there is no other Android smartphone maker that has an excellent track record in terms of updating its devices than Samsung.

The South Korean tech corporation has been killing it over the last couple of years, and other than Google, which, of course, owns the Android platform, no other company has been seeding updates to its handhelds faster than Samsung.

And that’s not all: Samsung has an impressive number of devices and updating them to the latest version of Android is no easy task. What is even more attractive is that it promises up to four major software updates, which no other company does.

It is for this reason that we recommend people to buy Samsung devices, especially groups that care about upgrades, and those that just want to keep their handhelds for a long time knowing that Samsung will continue eliminating bugs with those software updates.

The latest device to join the Android 13 party is the Galaxy A71, which was announced back in 2020. The new update also ships with OneUI 5.0.

Some of the notable key features of the One UI 5 are:

  • A new redesigned lock screen that is customizable.
  • A wide set of clock faces
  • A wide set of color palettes to choose from
  • A video wallpaper that will allow you to place a short video on your lock screen.

Overall, Android 13 includes:

  • New Material You colour schemes and new cinematic wallpapers.
  • Opt-in notifications.
  • QR code scanner in the quick settings toggle
  • Android 13 will warn you of crooked apps that cause background battery drain.
  • UWB(Ultra-wideband) support is coming to Android 13
  • Full support for Bluetooth Low Energy(LE) audio
  • A new look for the output picker and media player.
  • The option to make the lock screen clock more subtle
  • Improved clipboard management
  • Predictive back gestures
  • 7-day view on the Privacy Dashboard
