This is the first time that KCPE results have been released in a timely manner and in accordance with the curriculum.
Since the start of the pandemic in 2020, there have been issues with programs being erratic due to an extended period of students staying at home.
The results have since been announced by the new Education CS Ezekiel Machogu.
Here are some facts about 2022’s KCPE exam-labs:
- More than 1.2 million pupils sat for the exam.
- There were more than 28,000 exam centres.
- The exams were marked quite fast. More than 7K examiners were involved in the exercise, who complemented the optical recognition machines.
- There were five exams, which were completed using multiple choices.
- The said examiners marked Insha and English compositions.
Now, to check for the results, you have to do two things:
- To check the results, you can send an SMS to 20076 with the student’s index number. The code works on all networks in Kenya, including Equitel and Telkom Kenya, and the text costs KES 25
- You can check the results via the KNEC website. However, the portal is mostly overloaded at this time, so you have a better chance of receiving the results in a timely manner via SMS.
