OPPO A78 4G Officially Launched in Kenya

OPPO A78 4G Kenya

OPPO has today launched the A78 4G version in the Kenyan market. This is the middle child in the midrange A series which includes the A58 and the A98.

OPPO A78 comes in Aqua Green in what OPPO calls Diamond Matrix design which gives the phone this beautiful iridescent look at the back when hit with sunlight. It’s a very slim and light phone weighing in at 180g. It’s a dual SIM smartphone with IP54 water and dust resistance.

It also comes with stereo speakers and an under-display fingerprint reader.

OPPO A78 has a 6.43-inch AMOLED screen sporting a 90Hz refresh rate and brightness peaking at 430 nits. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

Running the show is Android 13 and ColorOS 13.1 with OPPO promising up to up to 2 years of major Android OS updates and 3 years of security patches.

Under the hood is a Snapdragon 680 4G processor paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB onboard storage. You can expand the RAM and storage to with upto 8GB of virtual RAM and 1TB external MicroSD card.

OPPO A78 has a dual main camera setup which includes a 50MP wide and a 2MP depth sensor. Video recording is capped at 1080p 30fps.

At the front is an 8MP selfie camera located at the top left corner reminiscent of the Reno6, Reno7 and Reno8. Video recording is capped at 1080p 30fps.

Powering the phone is a 5000mAh battery with support for 67W fast charging – a half-hour charge will get you to 765 from empty.

OPPO A78 comes in Mist Black and Aqua Green.

OPPO A98 5G

OPPO A98 is the upper sibling in the midrange series. It comes with Snapdragon 695 5G, 8GB RAM and 256GB onboard storage. It also has Android 13 and ColorOS 13.1 as well.

OPPO A98 has a 6.72-inch 1080p LCD screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and 680 nits brightness.

It has a triple rear camera setup made up of a 64MP main, 2MP microscope(f/3.3 34mm) and 2MP depth sensor. It also has a 32MP selfie camera.

Other features include stereo speakers, an under-display optical fingerprint reader, a USB Type-C port, and will be dual nano-SIM.

OPPO A98 has a 5000mAh battery with 67W wired fast charging. 18 minutes will juice up your phone to 50%.

Colour options include Dreamy Blue and Cool Black colours.

OPPO A58

In the A series, the A58 is the entry-level smartphone.

It has a Helio G85 chipset paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB of onboard storage.

The display is a 6.72-inch 1080p LCD screen sporting 680 nits brightness. 

For cameras, you get a 50MP main and a 2MP depth sensor. It also has an 8MP selfie camera.

It comes with Android 13 and ColorOS 13.1 straight out of the box.

A 5000mAh battery powers the phone and it supports 33W fast charging. Half an hour of charging will take it to 56% from empty.

Other features include stereo speakers, side-mounted fingerprint reader, USB Type-C port, and dual nano-SIM slots.

OPPO A58 comes in Glowing Black and Dazzling Green colours.

PRICING AND AVAILABILITY

OPPO A78 4G goes for Ksh 34,999 while the A58 goes for Ksh 29,999 and the OPPO A98 goes for Ksh 45,999 at official OPPO retail stores countrywide and on e-commerce platforms.
