Vivo V29 5G Kenya

Vivo is prepping to bring its latest midrange smartphone to the Kenyan market – the Vivo V29 5G. Vivo V29 5G succeeds the vivo V27 5G from early this year.

V29 brings a 3D 6.78-inch curved OLED screen rocking 1.5K resolution(1260x2800px). It is the sharpest screen around with 453 ppi pixel density with 120Hz refresh rate and 1000 nits brightness.

It is HDR10+ certified with support for WideVine L1 DRM.

Vivo V29 5G Screen

The back ditches the colour-changing design of its previous V series and goes with four colours including Starry Purple(Purple Fairy), Majestic Red, Space Black and Himalayan Blue. They still have interesting designs as well with the blue and purple versions sporting glitter that moves in waves when the phone is tilted.

The black and red versions have their shimmer uniformly spread across the back. They are both matte instead of glossy like their other versions.

The V29 has a curved back as well which meets the curved screen for its slim profile.

The phone comes with ingress protection with an IP68 rating.

Powering the phone is a Snapdragon 778 5G chipset paired with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. You get up to 8GB of virtual RAM too. Android 13 and FunTouchOS 13 come baked inside. The phone is set to get two years of major OS updates and three years of security updates.

Vivo V29 ships with a triple rear setup and a punch-hole selfie camera. It has a 50MP main camera with OIS, an 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP depth camera. We also have a 50MP front-facing camera.

Vivo V29 comes with an Aura Light feature, now enhanced with Smart Color Temperature Adjustment that brightens faces when taking lowlight portrait shots.

Vivo V29 5G Cameras

Besides the regular camera modes, the V29 comes with the newly introduced Astro Mode and Super Moon Mode.

Video recording is capped at 4K 30fps for the main cameras and 1080p for the front camera.

Vivo V29 has a 4600mAh battery that supports 80W wired charging. 40 minutes will juice it up from empty to 92%.

PRE-ORDER AND LAUNCH DETAILS

The Vivo V29 5G is available for preorder from 6th November to 12th November. Pre-orders can be made at Vivo’s official retail stores countrywide and each pre-order comes with a free backpack.

Vivo V29 5G has a 2-year warranty period and 100-day free screen replacement.

Vivo V29 5G will launch on 13th November.

What They Are Saying

“Kenyan users have consistently embraced Vivo’s V series, drawn by its remarkable blend of photography, design, and performance excellence. The V Series continues to democratize cutting-edge technology within an accessible price bracket,” said James Irungu, Brand and Communications Manager at vivo Kenya.

“The enthusiastic reception of our Smart Aura Light Portrait reaffirms its value, underscoring our commitment to reintroduce it alongside other innovations in the upcoming V29 5G Series,” he continued.
