OpenAI’s GPT Store for Custom ChatGPTs is Rolling Out

Sam Altman fired by OpenAI board

OpenAI has just unveiled the anticipated GPT Store where users can share custom versions of the popular AI chatbot, ChatGPT. The GPT Store is rolling out to ChatGPT Plus, Team and Enterprise users starting today.

The custom versions – called GPTs – were introduced during the company’s inaugural “DevDay” conference held last November. Users can create their GPTs tailored for specific use cases using natural language with no coding required. OpenAI says since the launch, there have been over 3 million GPTs created by the community.

The platform will now let you save and share your custom GPT in the store. To note, before sharing a GPT, you’ll have to verify your Builder Profile in the settings tab.

The store will also feature a leaderboard showcasing popular and trending GPTs across various categories such as writing, lifestyle, productivity, research, programming, education and “just for fun.”

OpenAI will also be launching a revenue program allowing GPT builders to earn based on user engagement with their GPTs. The “GPT builder revenue program” will be launching this quarter. The company says it will be providing more information on the criteria for payments in the coming weeks before the launch.

Enterprise customers will be getting enhanced admin controls for their internal-only GPTs. This will include choosing how internal GPTs are shared and which external GPTs may be used in the organization. The GPT Store for Enterprise customers will be available “soon”, OpenAI says.

Introducing ChatGPT Team

The company is also introducing a new plan for teams of all sizes dubbed “ChatGPT Team.” The new self-serve plan offers access to Advanced Data Analysis tools with higher message caps and models such as GPT-4 and DALL-E 3.

Customers can also create and share custom GPTs with their workspace. In addition, team subscribers will have access to a private section of the GPT Store that will also feature GPTs published in their workspace.

This plan will cost $25 a month per user when billed annually, or $30 a month when billed monthly.
