Influencer and YouTube sensation MrBeast, now has the crown of the most reposted post on X. Attaining 3.8 million reposts has seen the YouTuber surpass the previous record of 3.6 million.
The previous record was held by a Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa. Both scenarios that saw the two men garner so many reshares are similar. MrBeast promised to give 10 random people USD 25,000 once they follow him and repost his post on X.
In Mr.Maezawa’s case he had promised to split 100m yen between 100 randomly chosen people. Basically, both were money giveaways perhaps indicating that money does really run the world. The Japanese’s occasion came when X was still Twitter and owned by Jack Dorsey. MrBeast has achieved the record milestone when X is owned by Elon Musk.
Chadwick Boseman’s family posted the most liked tweet of all time on his Twitter account in August 2020 following his passing. As of January 2023, the post garnered seven million likes.
MrBeast Post on X
Recently, the content creator shared his latest video for the first time on X. From the video, he made over $263,000 in ad revenue. However, he was sceptical of the amount terming it as “a bit of a facade.”
He posted: “MY FIRST X VIDEO MADE OVER $250,000! 😲But it’s a bit of a facade. Advertisers saw the attention it was getting and bought ads on my video (I think) and thus my revenue per view is prob higher than what you’d experience.”
MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, had initially rejected Elon Musk’s request to upload his hugely-popular videos to X. He claimed the social media site wouldn’t generate “a fraction” of the money he earns from Youtube.
The post on X was largely a test. There were claims by X users, that the 25 year olds video showed up on their timeline an abnormal number of occasions in an effort to boost ad revenue and woo MrBeast to stick to X.
Whether he stays or not will soon be known. As for the money giveaway, the internet icon had promised he will announce winners after 72 hours which are yet to lapse. As people wait to see if they are lucky, there is a solid chance the number of reposts will keep growing.
