Game engine innovator Jabali has secured $5 million in funding. Led by BITKRAFT Ventures, the round also saw participation from industry giants like Sony and Amazon. This injection of capital will fuel Jabali’s team growth, refine its unique AI models, and bring its product to market sooner.
Jabali boasts a team combining gaming veterans from Amazon, Meta, and Microsoft. The team also has AI researchers. The researchers have publications in prominent journals such as AAAI and IEEE.
The San Francisco startup’s mission is to democratize game creation by removing the technical hurdles that have traditionally held aspiring developers back. They envision a future where anyone with a creative spark can bring their ideas to life, regardless of coding expertise.
They are focusing on creating a platform anyone with a creative vision can use.
The company’s generative AI-powered game engine will let users create new types of games and interactive experiences. Jabali is creating a purpose-built, closed-loop feedback workflow and technology for video games and interactive experiences, utilizing the advances in multimodal generative AI.

It becomes the latest startup to receive funding from the Sony Innovation Fund (SIF). SIF is fully funded by Sony and tends to invest in early-stage companies. Launched in 2016, the fund has invested in consumer and enterprise-facing startups.
