The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has opened applications for students who sat for their KCSE 2024 exams to join Kenya Medical Training Colleges (KMTC) and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions.

This opportunity allows students to pursue various certificate, diploma, and degree courses at recognized institutions across the country. Here is a comprehensive guide on how to apply online for these programs.

Eligibility Criteria

Before starting the application process, ensure you meet the minimum entry requirements for your preferred program:

  1. KMTC: Students must meet the minimum KCSE grade for certificate or diploma courses as specified by KMTC.
  2. TVET Institutions: Certificate courses require a minimum grade of D (plain) or higher, while diploma courses may require a C- (minus) or above.
  3. Specific requirements for each course are outlined in the program details available on the KUCCPS portal.

Steps to apply Online

1. Access the KUCCPS Portal

  • Visit the official KUCCPS website: https://kuccps.net.
  • Click on the “Student” tab to access the login page.

2. Create or Log into Your Account

  • If you already have an account, log in using your KCSE index number as the username and your KCSE year as the password.

3. Explore Available Programs

  • Once logged in, navigate to the “Programmes” section.
  • Use the filters to search for programs by institution, course level (certificate, diploma, or degree), and cluster points.
  • Take note of the course codes for your preferred programs.

4. Select Your Preferred Programs

  • Under the “Application” section, enter the course codes of your preferred programs in order of priority.
  • You can select up to four courses: two diploma and two certificate options (or as applicable).

5. Pay the Application Fee

  • To submit your application, you must pay a processing fee:
    • First-time applicants: KES 1,500.
    • Revision of choices: KES 1,000.
  • Payment can be made via M-Pesa:
    • Go to the M-Pesa menu on your phone.
    • Select “Pay Bill.”
    • Enter KUCCPS Business Number.
    • Use your KCSE index number as the account number.
    • Enter the required amount and confirm the transaction.

6. Submit Your Application

  • After payment, log back into the portal.
  • Click on the “Submit Application” button to finalize the process.
  • You will receive a confirmation message once your application is successful.

Important Tips for Applicants

  • Carefully review the course requirements before applying to ensure you meet the criteria.
  • Prioritize programs that align with your career goals and interests.
  • Ensure your M-Pesa transaction is successful and retain the confirmation message for reference.
  • Keep checking the KUCCPS portal and your email for updates regarding your application.

Application Deadline

The application window is open for a limited time. Students are encouraged to apply as early as possible to avoid last-minute inconveniences.

By following these steps, KCSE 2024 candidates can secure a spot in KMTC or TVET institutions and take the next step toward building a successful career.
