Samsung has been teasing an Avengers-themed version of its 2015 flagship smartphone, for a while now. The wait is over as the company has finally taken the wraps off the limited edition device. Partnering with Marvel, Samsung is introducing a souped up version of its dual-edge curved device, the Galaxy S6 Edge, as the Iron Man Edition.
The device will have a red and gold Iron Man-themed packaging to match its colours. It will have an accompanying wireless charging pad in similar colours as well. Spec-wise we expect no departure from the features of the standard Galaxy S6 Edge. The Iron Man Edition S6 Edge will come with 64 GB as the base storage option.
The Galaxy S6 Edge Iron Man Limited Edition goes on sale in Korea starting tomorrow (May 27th) for 1,199,000 Korean won (or about Ksh 106,000) before being available in China the following month (June). Only 1000 specially numbered devices will be available for sale in Korea with the first 100 buyers getting a special Avengers briefcase and the next 100 getting 2 free tickets to the Marvel Avengers Station Exhibition. There are no details about availability in other markets but we expect the device to show up in several Western markets where Marvel comics characters are nearly worshipped.
