Samsung Galaxy S 2

Samsung Galaxy S 2

By now the Samsung Galaxy S 2 specs must have been embedded in your minds, you can recite them off-head. This phone has had alot of positive vibe for some time now, and only recently launched concurrently in Kenya and in many parts of Europe.
This super-thin smartphone, which until recently, was regarded as the thinnest smartphone. I have had it for some time now, and all I got to say is its an awesome phone, add some others like sleek, elegant and smart. With 8.5 mm width and 116 g weight you gotta see how the Samsung guys have done the phone some good, considering the 4.3 inch screen size, compensates for the large screen when carrying in the pocket.
But this is not to be confused that I dislike the screen size, no. This comes in very handy with on-board qwerty and integrated swype. You tweet very fast.

Operating System

The phone comes loaded with Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread and an upgrade to 2.3.4 around the corner.

Screen

The 4.3 inch screen comes with Super AMOLED Plus capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors which is very evident with the images on the display, almost perfect resolution. This is backed by Gorilla Glass to give you that scratch resistant guarantee. Also has samsung touchwiz 4.0, multitouch and accelerometer for great gaming.

Storage

The phone comes with internal memory options of either 16 or 32GB, with around 5 GB limited access, I believe for ram, and microSD slot that takes upto 32 GB. Comes with 8GB included.

Camera

The power of the 8.0 mp autofocus, touchfocus with led flash is evident below here in the gallery. The first picture was taken at a very close range, so you can see autofocus at its best. Face and smile detection features aboard. Samsung Galaxy S 2 also includes a 2 mp front camera, comes in very handy when skyping. Am yet to use video call on the phone, does our network support this?

Other important features worthy of note are the super fast 1.2 GHz Dual core processor with GPU, making gaming a perfect experience. Play need for speed, Gameloft’s Asphalt 5, Krazy Kart Racers and other games very efficiently. The pigs on angry bird even fall off when you shake the phone(no, not really, but you almost feel it). 🙂

The phone supports Flash 10.1, clear videos, and the utmost feature of them is the data, goes upto 21mbps. You feel the inertia surfing on 3G networks. Now if only LTE was already here, we could utilise full potential of the phone.

Images were taken using Samsung Galaxy S 2, notice how the flowing water detail was captured? Yeah, very good camera, both outdoors and indoors.
