Its with a sad note that we recieve news of the passing on of our Global hero, Professor Wangari Maathai, the founder of the Green Belt Movement . She of the 2004 Nobel Peace price fame, the woman who made people the world over believe they have a role to play in reclaiming our environment to avoid letting it go to the dogs. She passed on on the 25th Septembet of 2011 while battling cancer In Nairobi Hospital, Kenya.
Kenyans, through an initiative by Naomi Mutua, have started a call to plant trees on the 1st of October, thats this coming Saturday to Celebrate the life of our Hero. Through the twitter hash tag #Wangaritrees we will be able to get information on how to do this. Please join us on the cause. We have a hero to celebrate.
