Samsung is making progress in making the messaging app ChatON available for as many devices as possible. Started with Samsung android devices, went fully android, went to Bada, iPhone, Blackberry so recently and has since been optimized for the Samsung Galaxy tabs. Samsung very recently made ChatON available for the Blackberry and Torch 9800 users have since accessed it. Makes me wonder if whatsapp will ever make their app commercial.
ChatON for tablet is not yet available for other Android devices as yet and download is via Samsung Apps store. Features available here are one on one chat, group conversations, animated messages, attatchment support and others. Samsung says the Tablet version, which is1.6.1 is available in 120 countries, supports 58 languages, Automatic calling system for sms verification(very great feature, copies the text verification direct, no need to leave the app when verifying when you install.)there are 153 emoticons, trunk which offers photo album-like functionality.
The supported tablets are Galaxy Tab 10.1, Galaxy Tab 8.9, Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE, Galaxy Tab 7.7, Galaxy Tab Wi-Fi 10.1, Galaxy Tab Wi-Fi 8.9, Galaxy Tab Wi-Fi 7.7, WXGA Tablets and apparently just one non-Samsung device. Current version for other devices is at 1.6.3.
