Flipboard has been a reserve for the fanboys, they know themselves. The trend of late has been to get those hero apps from iOS to Android, started with Instagram. During the launch of Samsung Galaxy S III a week ago there was an announcement that flipboard is coming over, but be exclusive for Galaxy S III for some time before finally coming to the rest of the droids.
Well, some geeky German developer named Valcho has made this easy for us by extracting the .APK off the one installed in the Samsung Galaxy S III using Airdroid. And that’s the short story of how we are nolonger going to wait for flipboard. He posted it on XDA Forums and provided a QR code link to make it easy to get the link on phone. I have since installed it on my Samsung Galaxy S II and it works fine. Will install it on smaller screen devices like the Galaxy Y duos and the Galaxy Y pro duos which is a 2.6 inch screen and see how this pans out.
Till then, here is the download link for those willing to get it on their droids.
[UPDATED] with devices where the app is confirmed to be working.
The .apk is working perfectly on xperia arc S according to a comment here, works perfectly on the Galaxy Note N7000, the Nexus one too but crashes on the Xperia Ray. It works on Galaxy Y Pro Duos but only on landscape mode, see image below. Tell us in the comments if it works on yours.
