In a bid to accelerate the growth of its business in the UK, Huawei is set to announce a $1.9 billion dollar investment in the country. The company’s objective is to create jobs amounting to 700 over a period of the next 5 years. This will include a direct investment of over 9 billion dollars. From procurement activities the company expects to generate an extra 9.6 billion dollars.
Huawei was founded in 1987 by Ren Zhengfei who currently holds the position of CEO. The company’s CEO will be travelling to the UK at the time of announcement. The company’s core business is the creation of telecommunication equipment. It’s operations have since diversified into consumer devices and enterprise network equipment. The company is currently hiring foreign executives to in its ambitions to become a global company.
