Free DIY Storage Cloud Recipe from Oracle

Instead of creating the ultimate cloud solution for everybody, Oracle has a better idea. Build your own domestic cloud storage rig and the company has published a recipe to that effect.  Included in the list are many Oracle (VirtualBox, Solaris 11.1 and ZFS) and Non-Oracle (Apache and the free AjaXplorer tool) products alike. AjaXplorer allows you to connect iOS and Android devices to the server making the home-brewed cloud a viable DropBox alternative. Recommended specifications for the virtual machine, according to the recipe’s author Suk Kim, are 2GB RAM and at least 20GB of disk space.
