Google Images Celebrates 37 Years of Atari Breakout

A playable version of Breakout, one of Atari’s early games, has been included on Google Image Search to celebrate the game’s 37th birthday. Searching for “Atari breakout” Google Image search displays the search results as five rows of bricks with a paddle and ball. The paddle is mouse controlled allowing you to play a game on the makeshift game console. Google has added an option to post your game score on Google+. Atari originally released the Breakout arcade game 1976 developing on an earlier game, Pong. Strips of colored cellophane added an illusion of color to the black and white CRT screen.
