Huawei seems to be now warming up to a fight with Nokia on the Windows Phone 8 front. They did release the lowest priced Windows phone, the Huawei Ascend W1 for the entry level battle. Seems they are now ready to take it up higher levels. Huawei Ascend W2 was captured sometime earlier though the render made available then was slightly far from the truth. This one comes from EV Leaks again and we have the yellow version of it. And you remember the Ascend W1 is available in four colours, Black, Blue, White and Red.
Previously, the specs in discussion for this one were a 4.3 inch device 1280 x 720 pixels showing this to be as high end as the Lumia 820 or thereabouts. The processor is expected to be a 1.5GHz Qualcomm carrying a 1GB RAM, the camera will be an 8MP rear with no info on the size of the front sensor.
With a battery of 2000 mAh this is not a huge bump from the Ascend W1 which has some 1950 mAh. The Ascend W1 does show quite good performance in the battery front, only misses the storage ship with 4GB. I would assume this could come running some either 8GB or 16GB and Huawei could pull a good fight if they do distribution and marketing right.
Could this also be announced together with the Ascend P6 on June 18th?
