George Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four has been in great demand since the revelation of NSA’s mass surveillance project. Currently sales volumes for the book are up by over 9500% on Amazon. The subject of Nineteen Eighty-Four is a state that constantly spies on its citizens which is the motivation behind NSA Prism. Orwell addresses several themes in the book that are relevant to current world situations including double speak, states locked in perpetual war and the amassing of political power by an elite minority.
