The Broadcast, Film & Music Africa (BFMA) Conference has highlighted advances in the creative industry for three years now. The event aims to become the leading annual business and technology gathering for Africa’s creative content industry. Tomorrow will mark the beginning of the 4th BFMA conference which will be hosted at the KICC between 26th-27th June 2013. Professionals in the creative industry will be drawn from all over the world to experience African film and music at the event.
The conference will focus on several issues namely contemporary and future broadcasting models for pay and Free to Air (FTA) TV, Radio, trends in creative content, digital content development and dynamics in Africa Film. Some of the speakers expected at the event include Scott Patterson of Slamcam Films – Australia, TouchSky media’s Gary Rathbone and Eddie Okila of Uganda’s House of Talent. The Kenyan lineup includes Peter Mutie from the Kenya Film Commission and Angela Ndambuki from Performers Rights Society of Kenya.
Film Biz Africa and Growth Hub will also be hosting the African Media Business Exchange at this year’s conference. Film Biz Africa and Growth Hub provides a platform for producers and innovators to pitch their ideas to potential investors, including a number of venture capital funds.
