Nokia Asha 501 was announced in India on the 9 th of May. Almost two months later, the phone will start selling this week. Thailand and Pakistan go up in the pecking order. The two countries will be the first to sell the Nokia Asha 501, followed by India, the launch country thereafter. Roll-out to to other countries in Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific and Latin America will follow in subsequent weeks.
Rumour had it that the phone wont sell in North America. The press materials sent in confirm this, no mention of Asha 501 going to the North Americas.
The phone will retail at USD 99 (Kshs 8,500) before taxes and local subsidies and will be available in a choice of 6 colours;cyan, bright red, yellow, bright green, black and white, this is market dependent. See the full Asha 501 Specifications.
