It’s quite interesting that when you have used something for several years you find yourself wondering how others live without it. Well, Algeria has opened bids for the country’s first 3G license and there’s three licenses up for grabs for 3G mobile phone network.
This is according to Reuters who have it that the deadline for the applications is set for August 15th by the Regulation Authority of Post and Telecommunications (ARPT) in Algeria.
Algeria has three mobile operators, Orascom Telecom Algeria, Algerie Telecom and Wataniya Telecom Algeria. Interestingly, there was talk of 3G license tender sometime late in 2011 in what was supposed to be the call for applications in early 2012. Whatever happened we have no idea.
