59,000 students were trained on IBM mainframe support last year. Participating students can access Systemzjobs.com, a job board that links IBM System z clients with System z professionals.
This year IBM has launched its mainframe competition in Kenya, part of a campaign to develop enterprise computing skills including big data analytics and scalable technology solutions.
REXX, Java and Linux on System z are among the technologies to which students will be exposed. The competition is organized in phases, each successive phase being more difficult that the previous one.
